The Beast and the Brain

The opening jaunt of the tale starts with a bang as we introduce our crew in total chaos. After a century of rough peace, the human autonomists have grown stronger and bolder as they reopen the war the Rilan’s thought was successfully quashed.

The key to peace is in the form of Malozqui dLak, a hybrid man born to be a warrior and groomed as a great military tactician. A misunderstood genius hidden in muscle and brawn.

His only foil? A beastly human captive with ties to the rebellion that could end the war. Though she has no intentions of giving up her secrets, he will soon learn not to judge by appearances.

The Queen and the Quandary

Zupaite is torn. She obviously supports human autonomy as a descendant of the first great autonomist Ben Kelly, and has been working diligently behind enemy lines towards that end.

But that mad woman will be the end of her!

Zupaite has no choice but to forcefully join with Siege in a herculean effort to reign her in before she single-handedly undermines the movement with her insane scheming. Her only hope of distracting the beast is on Ibas, the stronghold of the only successful revolt against the Rilans. Who might be willing to help in the Earthen war against the invaders.

But in arriving there they find the matriarchal planet at the start of a civil war, fueled by a tyrannical queen who is only too happy to aid in more Rilan bloodshed on Earth. Of course at the expense of her drafted army.

Can Zupaite look away to help her own people? Or is she doomed to another futile fight against a violently powerful foe?

The Ruin and the Resolve

The autonomists have failed, that much is clear even to the most powerful optimist. The only thing remains is just how brutal their demise will be. But Siege has a wild hope and even wilder plan up her sleeve. One that could end the war before it even begins.

In her possession since her captivity under Mal dLak is one third of a puzzle that could unlock the powers of the universe. If she can return to her original mission of finding the last two pieces, she could use it to stop the war she rekindled to life and find her way back home all in one.

Will her superhuman luck hold true? Or is the Earth doomed? Or both?
